I will try to combine your script with the Expect script.
This will not show any password settings.
May be an out-of-topic question:
I see you are using sudo to run the server. Do you run the proxy at
default port 8000 or at 80? Port 80 is normally not accessible for users
other then root. In case you use port 80 - what method do you use to
redirect to port 80 (apache, iptables) ?
