See here: http://www.handle.net/proxy_servlet.html .  It has a servlet you can just drop into a servlet container and run, and also source code.  Let me know if you need any guidance.

Note that we are trying to transition from /api/<handle> to /api/handles/<handle>.  The public proxies have not yet been updated with that change, but that is available in this download and we recommend it going forward.

HSv8 will come out in early 2013, and from that point the REST API will be accessible directly at your handle server, potentially removing the need for a resolver gateway.
